MNP attractive to postpaid users: Nielsen

However, prepaid, low and medium spend users are not motivated to switch, it added. MNP enables mobile telephone users to retain their mobile telephone numbers when changing from one mobile network operator to another. Nielsen estimates that close to one in five (18 per cent) Indian mobile phone subscribers would change their mobile operator if MNP is introduced into the market. Nielsen surveyed about 12,500 mobile subscribers across 50 centres in the country with measuring metrics such as satisfaction, willingness to recommend, reasons for churn and reasons for operator selection.
